First day of Kindergarten (and a little bit of catching up)

Okay, so I guess the biggest thing that has happened in our lives lately is Leah starting Kindergarten. Her first day of school was last Friday. I know, an odd day to start school, but the school district decided to do things a little different this year. They decided to have kindergarten full days, but not everyday. So they have 2 tracks, a Monday& Wednesday and every other Friday, and a Tuesday & Thursday and every other Friday. I think it's pretty crazy and I'm not excited about it, but I won't get into that. So Leah started school and she loves it. She was not scared or nervous and she didn't even want me to take her to school. She wanted to ride the bus. Funny how exciting it is for little kids to ride the bus and then they don't want to be caught dead on a bus when they're older. She did however let me walk her to the bus stop. I won't lie, I did shed a few tears. It's hard because it's such a big step. Being at home with mom is not the biggest part of her life anymore. As hard as it is for me, I think it's even harder on Kesley. She's lost her playmate. The first day, she asked me over and over when Leah was coming home. I feel bad, but I know we'll get used to it. Thankfully she has several little friends in the neighborhood to play with during the day. I am very excited for Leah, though. She came home from school and couldn't stop talking. She loved it!

So there's a picture of Leah right before she caught the bus on her first day. And a picture of my two children still at home to keep me company. And a picture of Kelsey on a stormy day. It rained last night and was cloudy this morning, so she begged me to let her walk around outside with her umbrella. I had to put snow boots on her cause it was so muddy.

So this last month we kept kind of busy with a few things. Mostly reunions, but isn't that what summers for? We had our McDaniel family reunion with my brother's and sister's and their fams. It was a lot of fun. The kids had so much fun with their cousins. They were sad when it was over. These four girls had so much fun together. Kelsey has four cousins her own age, but she prefers playing with Leah. They had a little photo shoot for us with all their poses.

Here's a bunch of the kids right before heading down to the lake.

We also had a weekend of family reunions with the Brown's. It was a lot of fun to have all of Aaron's siblings come and spend some time with them. Here's a picture of Jax with his little cousin Benjamin. They are 10 days apart. Aren't they cute together? I love the confused expressions.
Then, this last weekend we had some friends from Utah come stay with us. We spent a day in Yellowstone, and had a lot of fun. We love having people come stay with us.
It was fun because we left the girls with Aaron's sister and just took Jax. Greg and AJ have a little baby that's a few weeks older than Jax. I have not been to Yellowstone for so long, I forgot what it was like. It was hot though!
Here's Jax and Landon. Landon's proud papa is a huge Utah fan, and Jax's proud papa is a huge BYU fan. Go cougars!!! So we had to get a picture in their true colors.
That's about the extent of it. With the exception of a few other happenings I might get around to posting some day.
Oh and sorry to everyone for the private blog thing. I know it's a pain, and I know people forget to check private blogs as much (I'm guilty). I just felt it was something I needed to do to protect our little family from some creepy people out there.

Leah looks so excited! Taylor asks me everyday when does she get to go to school. I think I will for sure shed some tears. Lol. And gosh Jax has gotten big! Glad you had fun at your reunions.

I'm so glad Leah loves school and too bad for Kelsey... I think Eleanor will be the same way next year when Quincy goes! July was a crazy month, I agree, but it was lots of fun to be with family and friends too! I love the pic of Benjamin and Jax-- their facial expressions are awesome! Miss you guys!
