Baby Talon! A motorcycle! A crazy little boy! And the first day of school!

Talon Stanley Brown was born September 8, 2011, weighing 7lb 10oz and 20in. long. It's sooooo nice to finally have him here. We all love him to pieces. I'm so thankful to be the mother of these 4 beautiful and healthy children. I've been so blessed to have them in my life! This completes our little family which is a little bittersweet, but we will just cherish every minute we get to raise them.

My 4 beautiful children. Don't they look so happy? They love their new baby brother. Even Jax has done well with him. He come up to him and says, "mommy, can I pet baby Talon's head?" So cute!
 My 3 boys. Love them!!!
Aaron's new motorcyle. He was sooooooo excited to have one again, and I really couldn't complain too much with the kind of deal he got on it. Kelsey's the only one who will ride on it with him. Brave little girl.
My crazy little boy. He's taken an interest in dressing himself. He just can't figure out how to get his shirt off his head, so he runs around like this till I take it off.
My 2 girls, on their first day of school. Kelsey's first day of Kindergarden and Leah in 2nd grade. They are getting soooooo big and grown up. They were so excited for school to start. It has been an adjustment having both gone, but at least I have my boys at home still. That's about all we've been up to lately. Now that I'm no longer prego, maybe life will get a little more exciting;)

And baby # 4 is......

So we actually found out what we were having a couple of weeks ago, but with all the craziness going on, I'm just getting to post it. Everyone kept asking me what I wanted, and in all honesty I would have been happy with either(no not both:). Aaron and the girls were both hoping for another boy. But we were all thrilled to find out that it is another.................boy! A playmate for Jax. We are so happy to be able to complete our little family. We've decided that this will be the last because things seem to get hard every time. We never really felt that our family was whole until we got pregnant with this one. Now we really feel that it is. It's a bitter-sweet feeling. This will be the last little baby, but we are excited to move on to the next faze of life and just raising these four little ones. I am very excited to never be pregnant again:) Now we get to spend the summer preparing for the last addition to our family. Everyone is so excited, except Jax. He just gets confused when I tell him about it. I think he might have a hard time at first,  but he'll adjust.

A very rough couple of weeks!

This is kind of long, but I wanted to write down the details of what happened now while it's still fresh on my mind. If you don't feel like reading, totally fine. This is also for my benefit as well.
So this last week and a half has been something I wish never to have a repeat of. Aaron has had a type of acid reflux pretty much his whole life. He doesn't suffer with heartburn, just that food will get caught in his throat on occasion, especially when he hasn't been taking his pills(which means it happens quite a bit!). It's really annoying because in the past it's taken anywhere from a couple of seconds to a couple of hours for the food to go down. Anyway, About 1 1/2 weeks ago, he had come down with a head cold and decided to take a DayQuil pill(they are pretty large). Of course it got caught in his throat, but this time it was very painful. It only took a couple minutes to go down, but as soon as it did he had terrible shooting pains. At first we just thought it was the effects of that type of a pill dissolving in his throat and it would wear off soon. After about 5 hours of on and off pain, and than pretty much a constant pain, he let me talk him in to going to a 24 hr. redicare(it was 10:00 at night and he didn't want to go to the ER). And he insisted that he drive himself. About 1 hour later they called and told me to come in. So I hauled the kids over to my wonderful neighbors house and headed in. By the time I got there, they had just given him the largest dose of morphine that you can give someone along with another drug and then the doctor proceeded to tell me that it was either his gal bladder or appendix and that the pill and shooting pain from that were just coincidental. They were going to send us to get a CTscan done in a little while.I was a little confused. She left and the nurse came in to take his vitals, but they had overdosed him and couldn't get any stats on him. The next thing I new all the docs were in the room on him like flies trying to get him to come to, yelling, calling 911. It was soooooooo scary and I was a mixture of freaked out and mad! They counteracted the morphine and got him to start coming around as they were rushing him to the hospital. Of course as soon as the ER doctor heard his symptoms he guessed right on what was wrong. He said Aaron was having esophagus spasms. (Not his gal bladder or appendix!) They quickly got him in for some test and they found a 2inch tear in his esophagus and he was leaking acid and fluids into his lungs and cavity. They rushed him into emergency surgery. Flattened his lung and drained everything out and then they did a scope down his throat and put a stint in to cover up and protect the tare. He got through surgery well, but then we got to start the recovery process. He started out in ICU with 2 different drain tubes coming out of his chest and stomach and one up through his esophagus and out his nose and about 5 different IV's. Also with the frustrating news that best case scenario, he'd be in the hospital 2-3 weeks. After 5 days in ICU they were able to eliminate a lot of the IV's and he left the ICU. He's been on a feeding tube, but is now on a clear liquid diet. Apple juice never tasted so good! He's had 2 more surgeries since so they could adjust the stint, but tomorrow he's scheduled to have his final surgery and they will remove the stint and make sure the tear has healed properly. If it looks good, they'll put him on a soft food diet and the good doc said he could be out by Thursday. Aaron then asked him if there was anyway he could get out Wednesday night because early Thursday morning, we find out what we are having! He said yes! So Wed night(with good luck on our side) I get my husband back! It has been a very long couple of weeks. but I have been blessed with so much support from family and friends. I've never once had to worry about finding someone to take my kids when I've needed to be with Aaron. It's been hard splitting my time between them, but we've made it work. The kids are more than ready to have their daddy back. Along this tough road, I've seen so many blessings. And I've come to realize that sometimes blessings come in ways you don't really understand at first. For instance, I'd been fuming for a few days about what that doctor had done at the redicare until one of the ICU nurses made a comment to me. He said that he'd been talking to the doctors about what had happened and he called it," one of life's tender mercies". At first I was surprised, but then he told me the doctors had said that if they hadn't overdosed him and called 911 and gotten him to the hospital as fast as they did, there's a good chance he could have died. That made the forgiving a little easier. I told the nurse how upset I'd been and he said I had every right to be because the mistake they made was huge, but it turned out to be for the best. I know that Aaron was being watched over, and I am so thankful. This has been a tough road, but it's made me appreciate all I've been blessed with. Especially my wonderful husband.

A little update

This winter really hasn't been too eventful, but we've kept busy. Aaron's been working on getting some rooms finished in the basement. We figured once we add another child to the family we should have some place for it to sleep. So the girls are going to be moving to the basement. Luckily, they are all kinds of excited about it. The girls have been busy with dance. I have pictures of Kelsey too, but I'm still having a hard time loading my pictures, so I'll get one of her on as soon as I can. This picture is so Leah. I said pose, and this is what we got.
Aaron and Jax working on the bathroom together. As soon as Aaron gets his tools out to work, Jax runs and grabs his hammer and drill and off he goes. Such a boy! And this was not even posed.
Jax hanging out with his little friends.

Kelsey "reading" to Jax. She's such a good big sister. I've loved having her home this year to help me out. Can't believe she'll be in Kindergarten next year.

There are more pictures and happenings, but I haven't been able to get them off my camera. We are just trying to get through the cold weather praying it will warm up soon.

Last edition to our little family

So I've been meaning to update for awhile now, but  for some reason I can't get my pictures to download to the computer anymore. Hopefully I can figure it out soon. Until then, I just have one announcement. Baby #4 is on it's way! The newest and LAST edition to our little family will happen in September. We're excited to see the end in sight. Love my kids, hate being pregnant! Seems like each one has gotten harder. I just keep telling myself that this is the last time I'll have to go through morning sickness, and you know..... all the other fun, and miserable stuff that happens. It was a bit harder to keep it a secret for very long this time. The girls couldn't figure out why I kept throwing up in the mornings and why I'd have to have snacks at odd hours of the day. So we finally told them, and then after that, everyone just kind of started finding out.  Anyway, I'll try to get some pictures updated soon of our latest adventures.

End of 2010 at the Brown's

I get worse and worse at posting new things. I just forget and then before I know it a month or two has gone by. We had a fun and busy holiday season. To start off, a couple weeks before Thanksgivving, we took Jax into the doctors office because I thought he had an ear infection, and after a bunch of tests and x-ray's, and a few hours of wondering what the heck was going on, we were told that Jax had RSV. So we were home trying to get him better in time for the holidays. Luckily, he got better faster than we expected. Such a relief. We spent Thanksgiving with my family in Blackfoot and had a great time seeing everyone. The kids loved playing with their cousins. Then a few days later, we celebrated Kelsey's 5th birthday. She's growing up so fast. We just love her and her sweet manner. She is such a caring sister and daughter. So that about wraps up Novemeber.
December was as fun and caotic as ever. We had Christmas parties every weekend. But we were able to squeeze in a quick trip to Utah to get together with Aaron's family. (and I was able to finish up shopping while there, so that was nice:) We had a great time with them and on the way home we made our annual stop at temple square to see the amazing lights.
We started having Christmas just at home when we moved into our house and we love it. This was our 4th year. We've been able to have our own fun traditions and we enjoy just relaxing and being with the kids. I love it. Than my mom and sister's family come to our house for Christmas dinner.  Christmas day, we spent a couple hours outside playing in the snow. We had a great time. Aaron got his skiis out and pulled the girls around the yard, they thought it was great. Jax hated every minute. He does not like to be outside at all in the cold. He needs to toughen up!
These are the kids Christmas outfits. I was so excited when I found these dresses for sooooo cheap. They look so pretty, but after a day in church, I have to say that I hate these dresses. Glitter everywhere!!!! But they love them so of course they wear them every week. I feel sorry for the people who've been cleaning up after us:(
New year's was great. We had our good friends come stay with us. It's become a tradition that we really look forward to. Unfortunately, we all got the flu the week after. That was not so fun, but at least it waited till all the holiday festivities were over. IT was not fun, and this is actually the first time I've had the flu in about 10 years.  But we are all healthy again and praying it stays that way:) Anyway, that's the end of 2010 for us in a nut shell. I'll try to keep up(if i remember:)
