Nathan's Homecoming

This last Tuesday Aaron's brother Nathan came home from his mission in El Salvador. We headed to Utah Wednesday night and came home Sunday. It was such a fun weekend. It's so good to have the whole Brown family together again. I took a ton of pictures, and couldn't decide which ones to post, so there are a lot to see, but we had so much fun. On Thursday, we talked about going simming and decided to try to find a slip 'n' slide instead. We looked everywhere and couldn't find one, so Aaron and I decided to buy the plastic you get at a fabric store. We bought five yards of it and set it up in the shade in the back yard. But after we got going, we decided it needed to be longer so Aaron's sister, Valynn, went and bought more and we ended up with a 45 foot long homemade slip 'n' slide and we had a blast on it for the next three days. Even grandpa joined us all three days. He was such a good sport. We also had several crazy games of made up waterballoon baseball. Sunday was Nathan's homecoming report. He did an awsome job and we're all so proud of him. Sorry there's so many pictures, I couldn't leave any out.

It's been a couple weeks since we went on this camping trip with some friends, but I still wanted to post it. We went camping at Palasades Reservoir. It was very pretty and we got a really nice campspot. I was kind of worried about the girls waking up really early, but they slept in pretty well. It was a fun weekend.

IT'S FINISHED!!!!!!! (imagine me shouting for joy)

After we moved into our house, I decided I wanted the girls bedroom to have some kind of fairytale scene on it. So a couple months ago, Aaron and I decided to take on this project. We wanted to do it together, so we decided to work on it at nights after Aaron got home from work and the girls were asleep. We'd put the girls to bed in our other rooms and work late. We thought we'd finish it in a week tops. Boy were we wrong. We might have been able to, but life doesn't always go the way you plan. Life got busy and before we new it, several weeks had passed and we still hadn't gotten around to finishing it. We ended up doing a night here and a night there, but the important thing is that we did finish it. We're so glad to have it over with, and it won't be anytime soon that we do it again.

It was fun to listen to the girls eveytime they saw that something new was painted. They were especially excited about the birds, butterflys, and flowers (girls!). I know they are glad to have it finished. I was able to make that their play area and with their bunk beds, it cleared up a lot of space.

It felt good to be able to accomplish something new that I'd never done before. Aaron had painted his room growing up, even though this was a lot different. His was an airplane. But this was a first for me. It's fun to be able to share a talent with Aaron. It's so much more fun to do things together.

So we decided to paint our toes for the Holiday. The girls were so excited to have two different colors on their toes. It's kind of fun. (Don't mind my ugly toes). It's fun to be matching with my girls sometimes.
