The Race

Today Aaron and Leah both ran their best in the Idaho Falls annual scenic river race. Aaron ran in a 5K and he did great beating his time last year by 2 minutes. It was fun to watch him come in at the finish line.
Leah ran her first race today in the one mile kids run. She did so good and ran almost the whole way. She ran it in 14 min. which I thought was pretty good for a four year old. She was so excited to get a medal.
When we got home, the kids wanted to go swimming with the neighbors, so we got out our teeny tiny pool. We got them new swim suits this year, and they were so excited to wear them. We had to set it up in our neighbors yard since ours is still just dirt. They had so much fun. They played until they started making mud soup, then we decided it was probably time to call it quits. It was a fun summer day.

Wow, I can't believe that Leah ran a whole mile. Seriously, what 4 year old can do that. I think the first time I ever ran a mile was when I was 12 or so. She's so cute. I love her hair. Way to go Aaron on the 5K.
